Top 20 ~ Item #1: Get Awesome Camera, Learn How to Take Awesom Pics - Status: In progress...

This past Sunday I went on a photo field trip with Fernando, from Chimpsy, and seven other eager photogs.  We met up at Union Station where we had an hour of lecture on how to use the camera's features, followed by an hour of time outside putting theory into practice.  Below are my outcomes - enjoy!

*Gaahhh* I can't believe that SEVEN MONTHS have Passed!!

Wow.  When I get going, I go, Go, GO!

I have been away at a military school since January 24th of this year.  I just got caught up in the business of being busy, there! So much so, that I have neglected to work on my Top 20.  Well, that's not entirely true.  Explanations below:

I attempted to schedule one of those photography classes, but  didn't make the departure time...

I started guitar lessons from a friend there and learned six chords, even (A, Am, C, D, E, G)!

I also organized for our class to complete the 200 mile American Odyssey relay - this year I did 17 miles!

So, I guess that's not too bad for a kid who wasn't trying to make it happen, eh?

HOWEVER, in the short time that I've been back, I've already started on more than a few items:

#1 - I've scheduled a photography session for the last weekend in July (yay)!
#10 - Go sky diving.  Also happening the last weekend in July!  Although, after talking to my buddy who IS certified, it may or may not be feasible for me to get certified...so I may amend that for me to complete a Solo SkyDive :)
#13 - I've scheduled my first official guitar lessons...next week and the week after.  Once I try out this instructor and get my new work schedule - I will continue, super excited about that!

That's it for now, but I'd really like some thoughts on the following from YOU:

#8 - Climb a Huge Montain Range (recommendations?)
#11- Complete 10 Endurance Events (what classifies as an endurance event?)

Motivational Quotation: Be Yourself, Pursue Your Potential

A woman who is willing to be herself and pursue her own potential runs not so much the risk of loneliness, as the challenge of exposure to more interesting men - and people, in general.

As I searched for a mantra or motivation for 2012, and really, the something to mark my maturing viewpoint and understanding of myself as a woman...this quote hit home.  I found it about a month after my recent landmark birthday, but it didn't really have an impact on me until my December solo "clear-my-mind-relax-reflect-find-myself-and-what's-really-important" cruise.  Traveling alone and without the baggage of worrying or catering to others was liberating.  Meeting all the wonderful people that I did, was exciting, intriguing and addicting.  Don't get me wrong, I am still very much capable of being considerate of others, but I think I realize, moreso than before, how important it is to set boundaries, limits and to make space and time for me.  All it took was me actually DOING it.

For 2012 and beyond - here's to being me (freakishly amazing, as that may be) and pursuing my potential!

Adventure on!

Top 20 ~ Item #2: Get SCUBA Certified - Status: COMPLETE!

On 28 December 2011, I became SCUBA Certified!  Although this is just the initial level, I'm totally stoked!  My step-dad (a former Navy SEAL) is also excited.  He's already started planning our dives and we've decided to get go gear shopping together in the near future!

Here are pics from the dive location and also VIDEO!!
